Tension rods will loosen and de-tune over time simple from the vibrations caused by playing the drum. These Yamaha Gravity Guards drastically slow down that process when attached to a tension rod on the inner side of a hoop.
These guards are made for SFZ Marching Snare Drums, sold in packs of 12 to lock either the top or bottom tension rods.
